Disaster Recovery Status Update
The Texas Department of Rural Affairs (TDRA) is disbursing and managing the federal assistance for infrastructure (non-housing) in response to 2008’s Hurricane Ike.

So far, $1.3 billion in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) has been distributed to Texas
communities under Round 1 of the Disaster Recovery funding. Another $1.7 billion will be allocated in 2010 under Round 2.

TDRA has submitted a Draft Action Plan to the federal government that is currently under review. At this time it appears that most cities in the Houston-Galveston area will receive direct allocations based on reported damage and other factors.
